Achchamundu Achchamundu is the first of its kind movie filmed using red one camera technology.

Directed by Arun Vaidyanathan, the movie has Prasanna and Sneha in the lead. American actor John Shea does a prominent role as police officer. Karthik Raja has scored the music track which has five songs including theme music.
The movie is about an Indian family living in America. The family consists only of three membres and suddenly their normal routine is disturbed by bizarre events leaving them terrorized. Belonging to the genre of crime thriller the movie has a foreign cinematographer by the name Chris Freilich.

The film was shot in New Jersey at several locations. For the first time in Indian cinema, Red One camera is being used for filming. This futuristic HD 4k resolution camera has only been used in a handful of Hollywood productions. Vouched for by directors like Peter Jackson and Steven Soderbergh, Red is the next generation technology that will combine both the quality of 35mm and the adept ability of digital editing/transfer systems.

This film is the first Tamil film to be completely rehearsed on location before the actual filming. Also this film holds the distinction to be the first Tamil film to be done completely in live sound.

The film will have an international film festival premiere, contending in the mainstream cinema category. This will also be another first for South Indian cinema. The film is to be dubbed tentatively in Spanish, French, German, Creole, Mandarin, Mende/Temne, Arabic, Bangla, Burmese, Vietnamese, Urdu and to be released in 18 different countries in a time span of 6 months from date of release. This film recently won a great award in Home grown Category when it was screened at USA. Now the film has been selected for Shanghai Film Festival where Slum Dog Millionaire director Danny Boyle is going to chair the Jury. Audio launch was held on 15th may at Sathyam cinemas where Resul Pookutty released the audio and trailer.
