The gatekeepers of the law, the police forces of India have always been silent but efficient heroes. Undervalued and inconspicuous, the heroic deeds the’ve done for our country and its citizens have never been acknowledged; the time has come to appreciate and applaud them – the time is now!
We talk about corrupt and incompetent cops, but very little is said about the cops who’ve dedicated their entire waking hours so that others may sleep in peace, those who’ve given up their friends, family and some even their lives in the line of duty.
Going beyond the media stereotypes and imaginative storytellers, the story of Satyam is the life of a cop with no frills or fancies, just the hard truth, the tough life and the burning desire for justice that every policeman dreams when he takes his oath of allegiance to his country and his fellow men.
The first time we discussed this idea the excitement slowly started mounting within us, this was a dream script that every producer, director and actor prays and hopes for and when it came upon us at such an early stage in our careers, it was exhilarating and overwhelming. It was a fantastic script, and an exemplary team to go with it. Making a movie of our dreams that will touch a chord with the audience is what we set out to do. Then there was the nagging doubt, can we do justice to such a wonderful story? But this doubt vanished when the jigsaw pieces of Satyam fell into place. A movie that will be a landmark in the history of Indian cinema, a movie that’ll make every cop’s chest fill with pride, a movie which is not just a movie but the life chronicle and a tribute to every member of the police forces around the world. It was a phenomenal experience for the makers and will be an unforgettable experience for the audience.
Besides being a thought-provoking film Satyam has the right mixture of comedy, romance and action. “Satyam” is not a chance encounter for Director A. Rajasekar, it is a story that materialized from his experiences as a journalist. Producer Vikram Krishna backed his team the way, only a man on a dedicated mission would do. 2 years of preproduction, 1 year of production, 6 months of postproduction and the heart, soul and sweat of a 500 member team, finally, Satyam is now ready to be shared with the rest of the world!
