Movie maker Selvan who debuted through ‘Soori’ is turning actor with ‘Maakkan’. The movie is produced by Thiyagarajan for All Stars Cine Works. Keerthi Chwala is the lead lady pairing against lead hero Selvan. Kamna Jethmalani who heard the script was keen to do the film but when she knew that Selvan was the hero, she backed out! Later, Keerthi Chawla agreed to do the film as it has great scope for performance.
Muralisamy who assisted him while directing ‘Soori’ debuts as director with ‘Maakkan’. Srikanth Deva is scoring music to the lyrics of Vairamuthu for the movie. The movie is expected to be completed by end of 2009.
The movie was recently launched by K. Balachander in the Pooja held at AVM Pillaiyar Kovil.
