Vijay in the first half is Madhura a vegetable vendor along with his aide Pandu ( Vadivelu) is a do gooder and protector of the family of Seetha and her two daughters. He eradicates loan sharks and fights bad guys in the market. The usual hero worship is shown and only a clue of a policeman saluting the vendor gives you an inkling of what is going to come. Now Seetha’s eldest daughter Sonia Agarwal who was working with Vijay was killed and mother blames it on Vijay and shoots him down. It’s turn of the film to shift to Swamy track. Vadivelu now opens the story of Vijay actually being Madhuravel IAS the district collector of Madurai. He is the action packed bureaucrat who takes to the streets to solve the problems of the citizens. He does the job of policing too and is up against criminals. He does not believe in IPS and police force to clean up the city. So one such cleanup operation takes him to KTR (Pasupathi) who is running a parallel law enforcement system with his own court. He doles out justice to all and his God to the ordinary. Now Madhuravel does not take lightly to this parallel outfit . A clash takes place and Sonia Agarwal then PA to Collector gets killed. KTR puts the blame on the Collector. Now the IAS officer goes underground to surface as vegetable vendor because his aim is to pin down the KTR and his outfit. From now onwards it is Vijay on a rampage till KTR is finished and the murder charge removed.

Chatrapathy movie tells the story of Saravanan(Sarathkumar) who works as the bus driver for a ladies college and Nikitha, one of the college students, has fallen for him.

The movie stars Ajith in dual role as a driving instructor and don. The movie is directed by Saran where music director Bhradwaj scores the music. The movie begins with Ajith, a driving instructor leading a happy life with his mother Sujatha. She hides from him the truth that his father, Nizhalgal Ravi, was murdered by a dadha, Babu Anthony. The mother much against the boy’s wish packs off Ajith’s twin brother, who had been witness to the murderer from a close quarter, to a distant town. He goes to Tuticorin and grows to become a gangster there. When the younger Ajith visits Tuticorin, he comes across his elder brother. What happens when the two comes in contact with each other forms the crux. Seizing the opportunity, the elder brother kidnaps the younger one and decides to go as the driving instructor to Chennai. Initially, he plans to take revenge on his mother for packing him off from their house at a very young age. However, upon coming across Babu Anthony, he takes up a mission to kill him.

The film's music was composed by Harris Jeyaraj.Arasaktchi is a routine story of a youth seeking vendetta against the corrupt lawyers . The storyline is interesting but the manner in which the vendetta takes place spoils the film. Inspired from an Hollywood film which focussed on the nexus between the judiciary- police in New York, director spins off a tale to suit the local condition and in the process leaves behind lot of holes in the narration.
