Starring: Sundar C, Namitha, Vivek,
Sundar C has 2 heroines in his film 'Perumal.' One heroine was chosen right away. Since it was a glamour role, Namitha was a sure choice. The other role is somewhat homely. To get a heroine to do a homely role in a Tamil film is more difficult than getting Cauvery water. After quite a struggle, they have signed on Meenakshi of 'Karuppusamy Kuthagaikarar.'
Starring: Dhanush, Tamannah, Prathap Pothan, Sayaji Shinde, Atul Kulkarni Suman
This Pongal with “Padikkathavan” is going to be hilarious. The movie is not a remake of yesteryear though it shares the name banking on Superstar’s name. The movie has Dhanush that’s a highlight as this will be second movie in a row to act in movies title after his father-in-laws yesteryears super hit movies. Polladhavan proved that earlier and we all hope it will be the same with this movie too. Interestingly “Padikkathavan” is based on comedy and Vivek is threatening to sustain the limelight. Dhanush the lead hero of the movie must compete with Vivek in making the audience tickle with their comical performance. Tamannah, the hot lady of Kollywood will don the role of glamour role as the lead heroine of the movie. Music is by Mani Sharma. Padikkathavan is directed by Director Suraj and is presented by Kalanidhi Maaran’s Sun Pictures. The movie has got all the ingredients of entertainment. The first half is full of comedy while post-interval is bathed in outright action. The movie also has Prathap Pothan, Sayaji Shinde, Atul Kulkarni and Suman with other supporting actors.
Starring: Srikanth, Parvathy
It is indeed hard to mix realism and commercialism in cinema but not for director Sasi who has come up with this new venture titled “Poo”. The title itself gives us a feeling of softness and beauty of a flower (Poo). Could anyone forget the beautiful Love story with commercially hit songs of “Rojakootam” that stars Srikanth and Bhoomika? Director Sasi is one such talent who can bring those two elements together. He is back again with the same actor too. It has been a long time after his last movie “Dishym” commercially did well. “Poo” stars Srikanth and Mollywood actress Parvathi. Debut cameraman P.G Muthiah along with Maiden Music composer S.S Kumar must be much elated to work with Sasi who seems to have a penchant for New comers. “Poo is shot extensively in the rural backdrop of Thirunelveli based on the novel “Veyilodu Poi”. The Novel signifies the heart and soul of village life in Rajapalayam. Poo is certain to give the feeling of having read the novel with a déjà vu effect” narrates Director Sasi. Talking about Poo star cast he quotes “I share a good rapport with Srikanth since Rojakootam. He is a talented Artist. For parvathi, Poo is the first movie in Tamil but her sincerity and dedication is amazing. Poo depicts strong sentiments and characterization. All the characterization speaks for them, contributing the beat in them. I am sure our team effort will reap only success”. Produced by Moser Baer who are selectively following a trend of choosing quality movies adds “Poo” to their Crown. We wish Director Sasi that his talent of trendsetting is sure to heap him with viewer’s accolades.
Starring: Nithin Sathya, Prakashraj, Vijay (In Guest Role), Radhika Sarathkumar, Sindhu Dulani
Director S.V Chandrasekhar says “proficiency comes from various experiences and one such gifted artist is Prakashraj. In this movie Prakashraj is an ordinary ruffian who becomes a powerful politician in short cut whereas Nithin a student who is honest and a die hard fan of Vijay. Anger takes him over if anyone speaks ill about his star. Ilayathalapathi Vijay cast as actor Vijay itself and there is a surprise waiting for his fans in this movie. Prakashraj is baddy but with right mix of action and humor. No one can tell that he is villain.
