Actor-Director S.J. Suryah has a new look with mustache and beard in 'Thirumagan' in which he pairs for the first time with Meera Jasmine. The director is Ratnakumar, a story and dialogue writer. He had worked as assistant director under Bharathiraaja and S.J. Suryah. The film's story is set in Tirunelveli. Shooting locales are Cumbum, Theni and Mysore. Besides Meera Jasmine, there are two other heroines in the movie - Krithika and Preethi Varma. Meera plays the role of a girl who hails from the family of a mud-pot maker. The film will be different from Suryah's earlier ones some which came in for criticism for skin show and double meanings. The new film 'Thirumagan' will portray Suryah in a new light. The other cast includes Ranjith, Radha Ravi, Ilavarasu, Ganja Karuppu and Vadivukkarasi. Music is by Deva. Deva and Suryah are coming together again after 'Vali" and "Kushi". There are six songs in 'Thirumagan", all written by Kavignar Vairamuthu. S. Thanu ("S" Creation) is producing the film. Some of the films he had produced earlier were 'Kizhakku Seemaile', 'Kakka Kakka', 'Sachin' and 'Thotti Jaya'.

Prakash Raj, like any other rich man, tries to separate the two. In the end, Prakash Raj sets a goal and deadline for Dhanush. How Dhanush manages to earn money and succeeds in his love is the rest of the story. Though the movie’s story sounds familiar, the screenplay is totally different and it is where the director of the movie, Boopathy Pandian has shown his skill and has succeeded in making the movie quite an interesting and enjoyable one to watch. The song Ennamma Kannu from a Rajinikanth movie has been remixed and used effectively. D Imman has composed the music and the songs are worth listening to.
