Marendhen Mannithen based on a real time incident

Actress-producer Lakshmi Manchu & daughter of popular T'town actor Mohan babu is currently working on a bilingual project.

Produced under the banner Manchu entertainments, the film is directed by Kumar mahendra and has been titled Marendhen Mannithen in tamil.(Gundello Godhari in Telugu)..

The film which also stars Aadhi, Taapsee and Lakshmi, is set in the backdrop of floods that shook the country in the 80s. Maestro Ilayaraja has scored the music and Sreekar Prasad has been roped in as the editor.

Recently Ilaiyaraaja has composed a kuthu song in the film.. Sundeep, on whom the song was recently picturised, says, “That was my first kuthu song ever, and I’m glad it was composed by Ilaiyaraaja sir..

The number has a mass appeal, and it’s on the lines of Oororam Puliyamaram... (from Paruthiveeran). But the maestro has given the song a whole new twist and has captured the essence of the period in which the film is set.
